Result: A Special Carrier System to Protect Film from Light Exposure

Kodak had a special issue: to quickly transport test film samples within a facility covering hundreds of acres while not being exposed to light.

Kelly Systems needed to design a system that would ensure the film samples were loaded into carriers in a dark room, transported in the dark, and unloaded in another dark room. The tube lines had to be installed over, around and through other buildings throughout the company’s facilities.

Custom carriers were designed to protect the film from any possible exposure to light while being easy and simple to load in the dark. Kodak currently uses numerous KellyTube Systems, some new, some retrofitted, many are original systems that have been operating without problem for over 20 years.
